The reading book has been prepared for the first grades of primary school. Lu’gdõbrǭntõz u’m tuoimdõt alīzskūol e’žmizt klasūd pierāst.

The mother is cooling the food for the child. Jemā jǭ’tõb lapsõn sīemnaigõ.
[One] quiets the child. [~[One] lulls the child quiet.] Lapstā kušīņtõb vā’giž.
floating trees to the nearest port city pūd vȯigtimi le’žgõlimiz sadamǭjālgab sǭņõ
not fearing the raging sea äbkartõs vȭlatijizt mīerda
The drunk flew into a rage [~began to rage]. Jūobõn īrgiz ūlastõ.
Is he cursing at you? Või ta sīnda lamūb?
He curses at another person with bad words, rails against [him]. Ta sūoimõb tūoizta äbjõvād sõnādõks, lamūb.
[One] curses another person, or another person curses you: you thief, you beast, you blockhead. Šīmpõb tūoizta, agā tuoi sīnda šīmpõb: sa burlak, sa zvē’r, sa mops.
[you] swear at him with ugly words skēņdõd tǟnda ä’bknaššõd sõnādõks
