While my eyes are open, you won't get it. Koņtš mi’n silmad āt vāldiņ, seņtš sa siedā ä’d sǭ.
Half crying, half screaming, that is whining. Pūol itkõs, pūol räukõs, se u’m do’ŗŗõmi.
A fool also gets a beating in church. Jämp sǭb lǭtõl ka pieksõ.
A spanking is only on the butt. Pieksāmi set pierz pǟlõz um.
[One] curled [one's] moustache into curls, then they stood up nicely on [one's] cheeks, [they] did not point [~stand] down. Ūsõd skruļļiz skrõuvõz, si’z ne’i knaššõ pī’ļizt i’lzõ pȯsk pǟl, i’zt pī’ļõt mǭ’zõ.
