[They] are weaving ropes, [they are] as strong as the number of strands [that] are together. Kīeta kie’ddõrtõb, mits kȭrdali ta u’m, mits kõrdõ at ī’dsku’bsõ.
to spin flax li’ņdi vērbikšõ
to spin wool villõ vērbikšõ
He is spinning the girl around. Ta pīertõb neitstõ.
He spat in [~with] anger. Ta sīļgiz kõzāks.
He spat in my face – splat. Ta sīļgiz mi’n gī’mõ pätš.
[One] defies another person, [one] does what [one] should not do [~does not have to do]. Tūoizta spīțõb, tī’eb mis ä’b ūo tī’emõst.
[One] spites with [one's] words [~speech]. Spīțõb rõkkõks.
The child is playing in the water. Läpš plundārtõb vie’d sizāl.
The fish is splashing about in the water. Kalā plundārtõb vie’d sizāl.
He is splashing about in the water. Ta pluņtšõb vie’d sizāl.
He is sloshing about in the mud. Pi’ds lieggõ šļäkīņtõb.
He is splashing about in the bathtub with [his] hands. Ta tšuļpõb vannõ sizāl kädūdõks.
You are also just splashing the food about with the spoon. Sa kǭjkõks ka set slo’bbõrtõd sīemnaigõ.
to crack, to split, to chap poukõ lǭ’igi
The wound does not heal if it cracks. Kațki ä’b kuost, ku ta pōkõb lǭ’igi.
to split open kațki põrgõ
The ice is also cracking. Jei ka sprāigõb kațki.
[One] spoils one's child. Lutīņtõb eņtš lapstā.
This child is spoiled. Se läpš u’m lutīņtõd.
You are ruining him, you are spoiling him. Māitõd tǟnda, sa rikūd tä’m jarā.
[One] ruins meat, the meat gets shredded, cut up with holes. Ni’ggõrtõb vȯzā jarā, vȯzā īeb šnärbõlõks, ī’edtõd ouklimi.
The person is only ruining [his/her] life, the person is not thinking anything. Rištīng plogūb set jelāmiz jarā, rištīng midāgõst ä’b mõttõl.
He spoiled everything. Ta rikīz tikkiž jarā.
[It] gets damaged, [it] does not work like it should, [it] is broken. Rikābõb, ä’b lǟ’ ne’iku vajāg, jarā rikābõn.
[One] cannot thresh – the machine (~threshing machine) broke. Ä’b või pȯļtõ – mašīn (~ puoļtõbmašīn) rikābiz.
Bread goes bad if it has not risen well. Lēba rikābõb, a’ž ä’b ūo jõvīst nūzõn.
Fish go bad in warm weather if they are not salted enough [~they are salted little]. Lem āigal kalād rikābõbõd, a’ž ne at veitõ sūoldõd.
